The project under working title „the art DNA code of plants in Mallorca” is a multimedia project devoted to nature and its various appearances that can be observed from different angles and perspectives. It is an attempt to confront the history of nature and science with a photographic vision of it. Using different kinds of photographic equipment (medium format analog camera, microscope camera and drone) I, the artist, wants to capture the diversity of the nature – the similarities and dissmilarities between separate species. I want to concentrate on shapes and forms that plants take and compare it with the microscopic view of its cellurar composition and to confront it with human perception. The photographs will be printed and by examining them carefully I will look for some symbolic codes that exist in nature and try to understand it through cultural symbols and codes to check how that may influence the way of perceiving and feeling the nature. I want to play with that forms and process it artistically (drawing, painting, cutting out some specific fragments) and create a whole new table of the symbols of plant’s life (something like its DNA code, periodic table or an alphabet) – a brand new visual code of nature that would require us to engage different kind of senses to understand it (eyesight, touch).

This project is open. Its final outcome depends on the data collected while the research. 

Projekt pod roboczym tytułem „the art DNA code of plants in Mallorca” to multimedialne przedsięwzięcie poświęcone naturze i jej różnorodnym formom, które można obserwować z różnych punktów widzenia i perspektyw na wyspie. To próba skonfrontowania historii przyrody i nauki z jej fotograficzną wizją. Za pomocą różnego rodzaju sprzętu fotograficznego (aparat analogowy średniego formatu, aparat mikroskopowy i dron) chcę uchwycić różnorodność przyrody – podobieństwa i różnice między poszczególnymi gatunkami. Chcę się skoncentrować na kształtach i formach, jakie przybierają rośliny i porównać je z mikroskopowym spojrzeniem na ich komórkową kompozycję i skonfrontować to z ludzką percepcją. Fotografie zostaną wydrukowane i dokładnie je oglądając poszukam symboli występujących w przyrodzie i spróbuję zbadać je za pomocą kodów kulturowych, aby sprawdzić, jak mogą one wpływać na sposób rozumienia przyrody. Chcę bawić się tymi formami i przetwarzać je artystycznie (rysować, malować, wycinać konkretne fragmenty) i tworzyć zupełnie nową tablicę symboli życia roślin (coś jak ich kod DNA, układ okresowy pierwiastków czy alfabet) — wizualny kod natury, który wymagałby zaangażowania różnych zmysłów, aby ją zrozumieć.

Ten projekt jest otwarty. Ostateczny wynik zależy od danych zebranych podczas badań.
